Setup, execution and data collection of various electrical, mechanical and physical tests per customer specifications.
Performs pre and post-test measurements i.e., voltage drop, contact resistance, current measurement, dimensional, displacement (angular or linear), applied force, destruct limits, etc.
Builds fixtures, load banks and wire harnesses for tests.
Maintains test lab equipment operation and calibration.
Compile test data for internal and customer test reports.
Maintains Dossier database.
Perform root cause analysis in the event of a failure
Verify switch or module functionality to specified parameters
Maintains lab general stock and cleanliness and equipment.
Delivers parts to outside labs for testing.
Relocates test lab equipment as necessary.
Customer contact will be of a technical nature, normally at engineer or supervisor level.
The job holder is expected to behave as an ambassador for the company
The Test Lab Technician predominantly works, plans and monitors activity on a daily basis.
The Test Lab Manager and/or Test Engineer normally checks his/her work.

article source Education, Experience & Other Requirements

Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical concepts.
Basic knowledge of electronic test equipment; power supplies, meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Understanding of engineering drawings (how to read a print or schematic) is a must.
Able to read and understand the requirements in customer technical specifications.
Solder, wire stripping and crimping, and mechanical assembly ability required.
One year certificate from a college/technical school or equivalent.
2+ Years work related experience.
Excellent organizational and accuracy skills
Computer experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
The job requires teamwork with various customer departments and departments within the company, locally and internationally.

Able to lift at least 10 pounds.
Able to work with general hand tools, allen wrenches, socket wrenches, screw drivers, wire cutters/strippers, power drills etc.
