Controls Engineer 1st shift-Greater Grand Rapids
Develops new and maintains existing press and automation control systems; including quoting and specifying products, development of bills of material, associated schematic drawings, and operating manuals.
Provides technical support to sales and research by specifying control devices and material solutions to repair or upgrade existing control systems
Provides technical support to customers for troubleshooting existing control system problems
Provides technical support to shop floor and field services during system installations and start ups
Plans and formulates aspects of control system proposals for new or modified control systems, defining scope, schedule and cost of projects.
Reviews and analyzes sales proposals to determine if the product can be delivered as specified.
Approves and submits proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds for the production of new or modified control systems.
Generates appropriate bills of materials, schematic drawings, and specification documents to allow for the production and installation of control systems.
Generates or assists in the generation of standard operating procedures to be used by manufacturing when producing a salable product.
Follow and implement all applicable standards and customer requirements, including local and national safety standards such as OSHA, ANSI, and CSA

Critical Job Skills/Competency Expectations:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (machine controls) or equivalent required.
Develop and maintain PLC equipment control and safety software, based upon variety of programmable controllers such as SIEMENS S7, Allen Bradley RSLogix and Guardlogix, PILZ PSS, and others
Develop HMI software based on SIEMENS WinCC, Allen Bradley Factory Talk View, and others
Experience with Microsoft Office Suites.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
